Once confined to the realms of science fiction, intelligent ‘thinking’ machines are all around us now with the growth of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Earlier this year, amongst the plethora of AI related publications I was digesting I returned to one of my favourite authors, the visionary Kevin Kelly. His book, published in 2016 "The Inevitable" documents how our future will be shaped by 12 inevitable forces that are emerging today and he cites how he sat down with the founders of Google around 2002 who actually told him back then that their goal was to develop and create an AI platform. Well, they did and I for one can tell you first hand how I have worked closely with Google's algorithm, watching it progress and get smarter and smarter. AI is here to stay and its on a march to ubiquity... and that's not overstating it.

Stay tuned!

In 2002, ‘digital prophet’ Kevin Kelly sat down with two relatively unknown young men to discuss their free to use web search business and questioned how they expected to make any money from this. Their response was simple: “Oh, we’re actually building an artificial intelligence company.” These two men were Larry Page and Sergey Brin, founders of Google.
