Plenty of retail brands use TikTok to catch the attention of its audience, which will reach circa 750 million monthly users in 2022 according to Insider Intelligence. 

Now, it appears that the social media app famous for its short-form videos is looking to take a significant step into the e-commerce world.

How?

By moving beyond brand awareness and potentially assisting brands with fulfillment. Yes, it looks as though TikTok wants to make a move into this competitive arena with companies like Amazon as it is currently hiring for jobs at global fulfillment centres, stating that state that the global fulfillment team will be creating an e-commerce system that is secure, innovative and intuitive. 

The company has not provided any further context with regards to any plans for fulfillment centres but they have said that they’re focused on providing a valuable shopping experience in countries where TikTok Shop is currently offered across Southeast Asia and the U.K., which includes providing merchants with a range of product features and delivery options.
