Exciting news in the AI world!

Chinese tech giant, Baidu, is set to launch a generative AI chatbot in March, inspired by OpenAI's ChatGPT. This new conversational AI will start as a standalone app before becoming integrated into Baidu's widely-used search engine.

Baidu's new AI service will be used for search and answering questions, as well as generating text on demand. It builds on Baidu's extensive AI research and previous products, including Xijiajia - a virtual human who can paint a picture of a cat on command.

While similar to ChatGPT, Baidu's AI will be designed to engage with up-to-date data, unlike ChatGPT whose knowledge is cut off from 2021. Other players in the field include Perplexity.ai, You.com's YouChat, and Jasper Chat.

It's worth noting that ChatGPT has been banned from many Chinese platforms and will have to comply with China's new rules surrounding synthetic media and generative text AI engines.

Baidu's overall share price rose by almost 6% with the announcement of the ChatGPT plans. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development in AI technology!
